Molex was founded in 1938 and today provides solutions for the following industries aerospace and defense, automotive, alternative energy source, consumer/home appliance, commercial vehicle, data/computing, industrial automation, industrial electrical, medical, scientific, smart phones and mobile devices, solid state lighting, and telecommunications/networking. Molex takes pride in being involved in the first car radio, the first cellular phone and the first HDTV. They were also the first U.S. interconnect company in Japan in 1967.The company started with only making flowerpots out of a byproduct plastic called Molex. They began to manufacturer connectors for General Electric and other large appliance manufacturers out of the same material. Molex exponentially expanded from only manufacturing connectors to expanding its product lines that include: sockets/edgecards, cable assemblies, antennas, fiber optic products, printed circuit products, and automation industrial, and lighting products. Their memory product line consists of the following products memory module sockets, memory card sockets, edgecard connectors, CPU sockets, and bulb sockets. All of their memory product families are conformed to the JEDEC (Joint Electron Device Engineering Council) industry standards. Some special features Molex’s memory products have is that they use less moisture-sensitive and are made out of material that can withstand high temperatures.
