Kingston Technology

Kingston Technology Co. has sold their Payton subsidiary to China’s Shenzhen Kaifa Technology Co. Ltd.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, and the deal still needs approvals from the Chinese government. Kaifa will assume one-hundred-percent equity stake in Payton.

The deal will enable Payton to expand its horizons into wider areas for semiconductor packaging and testing as the computer industry continues to evolve. The agreement allows Payton to get its foot in the door in the Chinese market by attracting local customers and possible future capital injections. Both companies have stated their desire to continue working together in the future once the agreement is complete.

Kingston Memory Spare Parts

Kingston Technology Corporation is an American, privately held, multinational computer technology corporation that develops, manufactures, sells and supports flash memory products and other computer-related memory products. Their influence spans across the world with manufacturing and logistics facilities in the United States, United Kingdom, Ireland, Taiwan, and Mainland China. They are the largest independent producer of DRAM memory modules, owning 53% of the third-party worldwide DRAM module market share. Other feats include being the second largest supplier of flash memory and USB drives, fourth largest supplier of flash cards, and fifth largest in solid state drives. The company has shown consistent growth since its creation in 1987.

Starting as a company with just a single product, a memory module, Kingston entered the market to fulfill a severe shortage of surface mount memory chips. Since then, their sales skyrocketed to $1.3 billion in just 8 years (1995). Kingston has also shown impressive growth in the past few years as well. The company reports $3.7B in revenues for 2006, $4.5B in 2007, and $6.5B for 2010. Their ever increasing revenues can be attributed by their extensive product lines. Kingston supplies and manufactures memory for many different electronic products including computers, digital audio players, flash memory, gaming, mobile phones, printers, servers, and wireless storage products. With this extensive range of products, along with 4,000 employees, it is clear why Kingston is able to be the world's number-one memory module manufacturer for the third-party memory market for six consecutive years, the most recent being in November 2010.

From its humble beginnings as a two man company in 1987 to one of the most common names in memory products in the world today, Kingston Technology Corporation continues to change the world in digital memory with its leading technologies and innovative products.
