AVG Semiconductors – Geared to Meet Huge Semiconductor Demands

Semiconductors

How AVG Semiconductors Established:

AVG semiconductors, otherwise known as Autotech-Viktron Group, was founded in 1975 and headquartered in Illinois, USA. The company was founded during the explosion of the personal-computer industry when there were a shortage of semiconductors and up to 6 months lead time for certain chips.

AVG Semiconductors tried to assist the problem by warehousing over 30 million microchips which can offer military grade IC’s at commercial pricing as well as immediate delivery upon ordering. They have four facilities across USA in which they manufacture their parts with the latest SMT and ICT equipment.

Various Products Manufacturer by AVG :

AVG semiconductors have been producing automation products since their founding in 1975, with the first MS670 Motion Detector. The MS670 Motion Detector detects the direction and speed of the crankshaft within 12.5 degrees of motion, while also ignoring up to 7.5 degrees of vibration. In 1976, AVG develops microprocessor-based devices that replaced the rotary cam switched used for press automation function.

Following the microprocessor-based device was the back-EMF-based anti-plugging switch which prevents the motor plugging by reversing line polarity while the motor is in operation. It wasn’t until 1982 that AVG developed the constant-torque digital brake which stops the press flywheel in the event that a part is trapped inside the die and the motor requires to be stopped and reversed.

In 1985, AVG made the programmable limit switch, a compact, versatile switch with break monitor and remote programming capability. 1989 was the year that AVG invented the first of its kind die-set control. They also developed the first affordable signature analysis and fault detection system.

Their most recent development was the MFX-Series Press Control System which is a system that incorporates all press functionalists into one compact control by using a user-programmable, touch screen-based graphical operator interface which displays the Die protection, counters, tonnage, Servo Feed, PLS, and alarms.
